MEET ZAC
Building a Better, Stronger, Safer Community Together
Born in Anchorage, I spent my early years living in a cabin along Turnagain Arm. Family circumstances pulled us away from Alaska while I was still young, but we always held onto that cabin and kept Alaska in our hearts.
A year before 9/11, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman. In my four years of service, I completed two deployments, including being among the first troops to enter Iraq as part of the First Marine Division.
In 2006 I came back to visit Alaska but quickly realized I'd found my home. I went on to graduate from UAA and joined the Alaska State Troopers. While posted in Fairbanks, I served as a Field Training Officer, State Pilot, and on the Special Emergency Response Team. In 2018 I was selected as the state's first Tactical Flight Officer and transferred to Anchorage. Today, I happily reside in the Hillside area with my lovely wife, Liz, and our charming dog Archer.
I've served South Anchorage as a firefighter/EMT with Girdwood Volunteer Fire & Rescue and as President of the associated non-profit entity. Since 2020, I've been on the Board of the Hillside Community Council. I'm also proud to serve as a leader with Team Rubicon in South Central Alaska.
I'm running for Assembly because I care about this incredible community and am committed to doing my part to help it thrive. I believe our best days are ahead of us, but only if we work hard and pull together. As your Anchorage Assembly member, I will strive to make sure our neighborhoods have the infrastructure, the security, the services, the business environment, and the educational opportunities they need to succeed. I'm proud of my record of service, and I'm looking forward to bringing that experience and dedication to the Anchorage Assembly.
